5 Best Cashback Apps When You Shop
Everyone wants to save money but it seems impossible when you have groceries, gas, bills, and other everyday expenses. I have found five cashback apps that will help you earn money while shopping. I use these apps every time I go to the store, and they are extremely beneficial during the holiday season.
1. Ibotta
Ibotta has over 250 retailers that you can get cashback offers from. You download the app, find offers in the app before you go shopping, and add the offers. Make sure you grab your receipt and upload a picture of it to Ibotta. Ibotta will match the offers to your receipt and give you cashback within 48 hours. It’s that easy! Each offer varies from 1%-6% cash back or $.50-$10 cashback.
There is a $20 withdrawal threshold and you can redeem your money via gift card, PayPal, or Venmo. You can earn extra cashback by referring friends.
2. Checkout 51
Checkout 51 is similar to Ibotta except it is only grocery stores. You can shop from Aldi, Costco, to Fiesta Mart. The choice is yours. Add offers before you shop, upload your receipt, and earn money! Each offer ranges from $.25 – $3.00.
There is a minimum payout of $20. You can redeem your cash via check, Paypal, or electronic gift card.

3. Coinout
CoinOut is a new app that I have started using. I love it! You get automatic cashback for all online purchases made through the app, and scan receipts for up to two weeks after the original purchase for cashback. You can also earn bonus cash for referring friends or being a frequent user.
CoinOut will customize offers and features for you and will send a daily reminder to upload any receipts you may have.

4. GetUpside
I just discovered Get Upside and am so excited to share about it. They partner with local gas stations, grocery stores, and restaurants for cashback deals. You can earn up to $.25 per gal of gas. In select areas, you can save up to 35% at restaurants and 15% at grocery stores. The app will show you the nearest gas station that provides cashback. This is perfect for road trips!
You claim your local offer and then snap a photo of your receipt to earn your cash. You can cash out via check, Paypal, or Electronic Gift Card.
5. Rakuten
Rakuten is the app I’ve used for years. They have hundreds of retailers to choose from. You can earn cashback from shopping through the app or you can link your card and get cashback in-store. Rakuten sends a check quarterly that is over $5. If your rewards are under $5 they will roll over that amount into the next quarter.
