📣Read the ingredients in your makeup📣 There 📣Read the ingredients in your makeup📣 There are so many ingredients in makeup that can cause irritation to your skin and breakouts. One of those main ingredients is Talc. What is talc? Talc is a mineral that is used in makeup to absorb moisture, prevent caking, and improve the feel of the product. But did you know that some talc is contaminated with carcinogen asbestos? It has been identified as a lung irritant and been linked to organ system toxicity. Thankfully, I’m allergic to talc and have been using talc-free makeup for years. Anytime I use makeup with talc, my face gets itchy, red and I get the worst breakouts. However, there are other ingredients in makeup that cause irritations. That’s why it’s so important to educate yourself on what you are putting on your face. My favorite talc-free clean beauty brand is @crunchicollection. Their foundation performs better than any brand I’ve tried. I don’t have to wear concealer, it doesn’t melt off my face, it doesn’t feel heavy, and doesn’t irritate my skin. 📣Share this post to help spread the word
Back in 2016, is when I started to get an itch to Back in 2016, is when I started to get an itch to do something outside of my everyday work. I didn’t know what it looked like, so I would search Pinterest and google for “ways to make money” “side hustles”, “business ideas” etc. I would have so many ideas but then feel overwhelmed anytime I tried to start. Waves of insecurity and embarrassment would come over me, so I would give up. Then I would have a new idea and the cycle would repeat. đŸ€Do I wonder what my life would look like if I had stuck with one of those ideas? Absolutely! ❀Am I grateful that they didn’t work out? Yes! Here is why: who I was then is not who I am now. My mindset and my “why” back then was not clear. Over the past 6 years, I’ve gone through things personally and professionally that would have thrown a wrench in my plans. But through those things I’ve learned so much about myself. I’ve had time to pray about my ideas and dreams. I’ve felt a peace and understanding that I didn’t have years ago. If you have tried something and failed, don’t give up. Seek prayer, scripture, mentorship and education. Be honest with yourself. The timing may not be what you want, but I promise the hurdles will all be worth it.

“It takes a village.” is something my grandpar “It takes a village.” is something my grandparents have always said. They would tell stories of friends, family and neighbors all coming together and helping each other out. Whether is was borrowing tools, picking groceries up, or watching someone’s kids because of an emergency. They all came together without hesitation because it was the right thing to do. I think the majority of people now have the “It’s easier to do it myself” mindset. While it’s sometimes a true statement, it can also become a negative mindset. We end up isolating ourselves and, in difficult times when we do need community, they aren’t always there. It’s not weak for others to help you. You shouldn’t have mom guilt, wife guilt, or feel embarrassed as an employee because you ask for help or support. Nobody is perfect and everyone is going through something. Let’s build a community again by checking in on each other, introducing ourselves to new people, or just helping a stranger when we see the opportunity. Share this post if you agree.
