At Home Workout Programs for Every Budget

Budget-Friendly Workout Programs

I know so many people feel lost when it comes to working out. There is so much information out there and it is overwhelming to find a program. I have tried many workout programs over the past few years and thought I would share them with you. The majority are FREE or under $30. The best part is that they can all be done at HOME!

*I am in no way sponsoring or advertising these programs. These are all programs I have personally tried. I would never recommend something to you without trying it first hand.

Free Programs

Youtube – Y’all youtube has so many workout videos that you can easily do at home with minimum equipment. My favorite youtube channels are

  • POPSUGAR Fitness – They have strength training, dance, yoga, cardio, and HIIT videos.
  • Yoga with Adriene – Adriene makes yoga fun and relatable. She has a wide range of videos from beginner to advance. She explains poses and movements in a way that is easy to understand. Videos range from 10 minutes to an hour.

C25K App – C25k or “Couch to 5k” is an app that is an 8-week training program to run a 5k. This app has helped me start running. It starts out pretty easy and gets harder each week. As much as I hate running, I have been able to push myself past my mental limits while using this app.

Bodyspace App – Bodyspace is an app by You create an account, take a quiz, and it gives you recommended workout programs. It has beginner and expert level programs. This app was a lifesaver when I had my gym membership. I never knew what to do until I signed up for the app. You can do some of the programs at home as well. *TIP: If there is an exercise for the gym but you are at home, look up the modification. Ex: The exercise is leg press, google “Leg press at home modification”.

Paid Programs

Alexia Clark – Alexia Clark is hands down my favorite workout program EVER! The program is $30 per month. It includes 5 different workouts every day, every week. There are a home and gym option. You never repeat a workout, which results in never getting bored! You also get weekly meal plans and grocery lists. Alexia has detailed written instructions and videos for every exercise. She also sends daily motivational e-mails for the workout of the day. Check her out on Instagram to get an idea of what her program is like and try one of her videos. The Sweat App – The Sweat App was created by Kayla Itsines. She created the BBG program and then launched it into the sweat app. The app now includes 8 different workout programs for $20 per month. I have done two of the eight. There is also a post-partum program for new moms!

  • BBG Program – BBG is the first workout program I did at home 3 years ago. It is 30 minutes 3x per week for 12 weeks, primarily cardio-based, with some weight training. It is a great program to start with because it helps you create an exercise routine. Who doesn’t have an extra hour and a half in one week to workout?
  • Power at Home Program – Power is another workout program inside the Sweat app. It is by trainer Kelsey Wells. She started her fitness journey with BBG. She fell in love with fitness, became certified, and now has a strength training program. Power is a 30-minute workout with weights at home. All you need is a pair of dumbbells and resistance bands.

Centr App – The Centr App is Chris Hemsworth’s workout program. I tried a 6-week free-trial last month and loved it! You fill out a questionnaire about yourself and your fitness goals. Then the app creates a customized workout program and meal program. The workouts include strength training, yoga and pilates, HIIT workouts, boxing, and much more.  Pricing is $19.99 per month or $119.99 for a year.

You don’t need a gym membership or to be an expert to work out. Remember you are a beginner, have some grace for yourself, and start with mini-goals. If you still feel overwhelmed or unsure, go for a walk outside! It’s free and you get a breath of fresh air.
